2011年10月に発売後、ロングセラーを続ける坂田明『平家物語』（dms-142）に続き、今度は映像版（DVD）が登場です！！ 高平哲郎の構成・演出によって、2012年6月24日に新宿Pit Innで行なわれたライブを丸ごと収録。坂田明、ジム・オルーク、田中悠美子、石井千鶴、山本達久のクインテットによる、さらに末広がりになった演奏も坂田明の朗読をこれでもかと引き立て、フリーの演奏シーンでは阿鼻叫喚、「先帝入水」では涙すら誘います。ライブ・ペインティングと絵巻物などがバックスクリーンに投射され、音だけでは伝わらない『平家物語』の豊穣なイメージが映像にも炸裂します。
